A visible lunar halo or ring was in the sky Monday night over Virginia. I happend to get off work late - after missing Monday Night Football - and saw this on my drive home. I was able to setup the tripod and leave the shutter open for many seconds to capture the images on camera. According to wikipedia, Lunar rings form when light is refracted in ice crystals high in the atmosphere.
