As you may have gathered from other postings I've offered up, I work in Sandbridge. I have the opportunity to be at the oceanfront all day long.
Today, when word of the foundering barge spread beyond our little strip of heaven, the locals came rubbernecking.
Police were dispatched to control the situation. The City's workforce was handily clearing the streets of sand and debris... with large machinery. Contractors, home owners, and property service professionals of varying descriptions were making a full frontal assault. And every Tom Dick and Harry with nothing better to do came along to park in the middle of the road, and get stuck in the sand. Or, it was a great day to show the little lady that you don't actually need to slow down at all when cruising through 2 foot deep water, if you have 36 inch sand tires.
