This video depicts the effects of the storm surge against dunes near the Shifting Sands aboard the NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex on the morning of November 13, 2009. The storm surge reached the upper level of a beach access point. Notice the erosion of the dunes and how much sand reached the access points. This provides proof that storm surge reached extremely high levels. This activity suggests the dunes held back high water levels from the previous two days.
