This morning about 11:00, the Lake Placid area of Virginia Beach was temporarily invaded by migrating birds. The neighborhood was alive with the sounds of flapping wings and chirping birds. Dogs barked, cats perched in windows ready for attack and residents watched from closed windows as the birds swooped down looking for food and rest on their yearly migrational journey. As fast as the birds flew in, they were gone. By 11:30 the neighborhood was back to it's quiet, lazy Saturday morning routine .
