Flooding on Stratford Rd

Flooding on Stratford Rd Brandon Heights

In the fall of 2011 the City of Newport News did a major Drainage project in Brandon Heights to releive flooding after a storm drain built in the 1930/40's Failed. It was a multi-million dollar project and required the removal of dozens of old trees (5O yrs or older). Today was the first major rain we have had since the "upgrade of drainage" and the flooding was actually the worst We have seen in the 7 years that I have lived here. Water was 8 inches deep in our back yard, and over a foot deep in the street. Water was Bubbling UP out of the storm drain flooding the street and houses even more. I am worried what would happen if we have a hurricane. I have uploaded 3 pictures, and have more to share.

Sincerely,

Bill Tennant
