One my chickadiees that left the nest box yesterday during the rain storm, he found a spot out of the rain and the parents fed him there for hours. When the rain got heavy he would duck behind the wheel only venturing out when hungry, a few squalks and a parent would be there with food in seconds. I reached down to say hi and he flymbed up my arm until we were eye to eye. It took some doing to get him to stay in his spot but finally he did and the parents resumed feeding. This morning he was gone but the now fimilar squalks of baby chickadiees filled the air.
