Sphinx Moth getting alittle nectar from ginger flower's

Sphinx Moth sited in Kempsville

We live in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach. These photo's were taken on 9/26/10 Our ginger plant has beautiful white scented flower's at the top with stalk's that look a lot like a corn plant. The Sphinx moth comes for a visit at dusk, even after dark to enjoy the nectar. They are fast moving, their body is about the size of a hummingbird with large wings (3-4 inch wing span, getting a photo is somewhat difficult. However, they are amazing to watch, worth the time trying to get the perfect photo.
