Earl Enters Picture!

I am located at or near the highest point in the Outer Banks (milepost 5 at the southern most point in Kitty Hawk, NC). I have decided to ride Earl out along with my wife and 4 children, 1 dog, three cats, 20 fish and 1 North American Box Turtle named "Shellie". The children range from 24 to 9 years of age. We can see both the ocean to the east and the sound to our west...the Wright Brothers National Monument is easily seen to our south. The storm surge will not be a threat to our home, however, we will shutter our house to protect us from the sustained hurricane force winds. The storms' outer cloud bands are now visible and we expect to see precipitation beginning at 8pm this evening. The heaviest rains will fall between 12 midnight tonight until 6am Friday morning. The storm will clear out completely by 12 noon on Friday. I will post pictures and video as Earl impacts our location until he is outta here! Wish us luck!
