A front is an area where two air masses of different temperature and humidity meet. Fronts usually bring bad weather.
A cold front is the boundary between warm air and cool air, where the cool air is replacing the warm air.
A warm front is the boundary between cool air and warm air, where the warm air is replacing the cool air.
When neither air mass is replacing the other, a stationary front forms.
