In a high pressure situation, the air is compressed and is pushing down.
In a low pressure situation, the air is rising.
To get rain, you need rising air, or low pressure.
If we track these highs and lows (H's and L's), they can help us forecast the weather.
Generally, highs bring clear weather, lows bring rain.
