VIRGINIA BEACH - People are getting ready to shave their heads to show support for and raise money for pediatric cancer research.

The annual event for St. Baldrick’s Foundation is March 8 starting at 9 a.m. at The Westin Virginia Beach, 4535 Commerce Street.  Great Clips stylists are donating their time to shave heads.

Organizers say this year’s goal is $150,000 and are thrilled that they've raised more than $1 million the last 10 years of the event.

If you don't want to shave your head, you can bid on items in the silent auction.

Cancer is the number 1 disease killer of children. St. Baldrick’s supports CHKD with a grant to support their research program each year.

For more information, call 757-589-1749 or go to the Foundation Web site.
