NORFOLK-- Crews worked around the clock Saturday and Sunday to repair potholes on the Interstates, especially on I-264 near Brambleton Ave. in Norfolk.
The work stopped at 5:00 a.m. Monday for the morning commute.
The action comes after Friday morning’s storm opened up more potholes. VDOT crews focused on sections along portions of I- 264, I-64, I-664, and I-464.
Spokeswoman Jennifer Gwaltney said contractors were also helping with the job. Additionally, officials from Richmond joined district officials in monitoring the work of the contractors.
Gwaltney warned drivers to slow down, to watch out for potholes and workers fixing the roads.
Monday, VDOT will release a progress report on the projects, and officials said they'll give an update on pothole work for the week.
