HAMPTON -- Two men were shot in Hampton early Tuesday.

Sgt. Jason Price said police found the just after 3 a.m. in the 3700 block of Victoria Blvd.

"The victims were at a gathering inside a residence. There was a verbal altercation that took place, after which the suspect brandished a firearm and shot the victims," Sgt. Price told WVEC.com.

"They were taken to the hospital; one was treated and released and the other remains hospitalized, he noted.

13News Now spoke with a man who said he owns the house and describes it as a boarding house.

A woman who lives nearby said she's afraid of what goes in the neighborhood.

Police have no information about the circumstances of the shooting, suspects or a motive.
