BUNOL, SPAIN-What would you do with 120 tons of tomatoes? In Bunol, Spain, 40,000 people used it to make a big red mess.
Participants in the 64th annual Tomatina fight hurled chunks of tomatoes at each other.
Some of the "fighters" were from as far away as Japan and Australia. The Tomatina fight has its roots in a food fight among kids back in 1945.
Portable showers were set up so revelers could shower afterward and then the town's streets and walls were hosed down.
