ATLANTIC, Va. (AP) -- NASA launched a rocket carrying an inflatable heat-shield technology demonstration flight from its Wallops Flight Facility.
The agency live streamed the event with the Inflatable Reentry Vehicle Experiment on a Black Brant XI sounding rocket Monday morning. It lifted off right at 7 a.m. It's projected to splash down about 100 miles east of Cape Hatteras, NC.
The launch window on Monday for all rockets, including several to test tracking systems and gather atmospheric data, is 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.
