PORTSMOUTH - A Chesapeake man is facing charges after police say his car plowed into a Portsmuth 7-Eleven and then he drove off.
It happened around 6:00 a.m. Monday at the 7-Eleven at 5000 George Washington Blvd. in Portsmouth.
Photos of the damage show the broken front window and brick support wall and a smashed up trash container.
A black Dodge Neon with two men inside pulled into a parking space around 6:00 a.m. The vehicle then accelerated and hit the front of the business.
The car was located soon afterwards and impounded.
On Tuesday, traffic summonses for hit & run, reckless driving and failing to maintain control of the vehicle were issued to 36-year-old Joseph J. Clark.
