Dollar General fire
HAMPTON -- Fire broke out at a Dollar General store on Mercury Blvd. Tuesday morning.
Firefighters got the call around 6:40 a.m., and were able to extinguish the fire by 7:30 a.m.
According to Captain Chittum, there were no injuries, as the store was not open, but some contents of the building were damaged. It is not a total loss, though.
The cause of the blaze is unknown, and the scene is under investigation.
