CHESAPEAKE-A woman was knocked to the ground and robbed at an ATM in Chesapeake. Police say her two small children were in the car waiting for her when it happened.

It happened around 8:00 a.m. at the Bank of America on Indian River Road.

Police spokeswoman Kelly O'Sullivan told WVEC.com the robber got cash and left in a dark SUV. He is described as black, in his 20s, with dreadlocks to his shoulder and he was wearing a dark hoodie and blank pants.

The woman was treated for minor cuts and scrapes, O'Sullivan added.

The bank was open for business.

Customers and people in the nearby shopping center say they see a security guard watching in the area during business hours.
