HAMPTON-- Hampton Roads is gearing up for the next round of winter weather.
Many public works departments already have equipment locked and loaded from last week's snow, so they say getting ready this time is a breeze.
Tyler Richardson is the supervisor of bridges and streets for the city of Hampton and says the major roadways have been pretreated with a brine mixture of concentrated salt water.
"As long as it doesn't rain before the snow comes, we're in great shape and ahead of the game," said Richardson.
In Hampton, crews have begun working 12-hour shifts, 18 trucks are ready to plow snow, 16 trucks are ready to put down brine, and they will receive 100 tons of salt tomorrow.
