GLOUCESTER CO.-- About 200 family and friends of 4 victims of a fatal house fire gathered for a vigil Friday night.

The gathering was in remembrance of  54-year-old Virginia R. Grogan, 7-year-old Thomas, 2-year-old Michael and 6-month-old Gabriel Grogan who died in a fire at their home on Summerville Drive

The fire happened early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters who got to the scene around 3:00 a.m. said the house was heavily engulfed in flames.

According to family members, Virginia Grogan escaped the fire but re-entered the burning house to try to save her grandchildren.

Crews found their bodies in the debris of the home.

Virginia State Police is now the lead investigating agency to find the cause and origin of the fire.

The sheriff's office said that the fire appeared to be accidental.
