NEWPORT NEWS-- NFL quarterback Michael Vick was in Newport News Monday giving back to kids in his hometown.

The Eagles' football player spent some time with kids at Psalm Ministries subbing for Saint Nick.

This time of the year, Vick says he loves coming home. "This is home for me, this will always be home.  I appreciate the love and support I get everyday when I' m out in the community.   It's something I feel like I have to do.

The kids get gifts and a chance to meet the homegrown football star.

Jahmya Hammond received Hello Kitty headphones.  "After I told him thank you he said your welcome," she giggled.

There were lots of thankful children and their parents were thankful to Michael Vick for remembering his hometown.
