NORFOLK -- The plate in the eastbound tube right before emerging from the tunnel.
The one-inch thick plate is in place while crews do night repairs. It covers a hole several inches deep and officials decided to use it rather than close a lane.
VDOT is warning drivers not to go faster than the posted 35 MPH during the work.
A mechanic says the plate could damage tires or put your vehicle out of alignment.
VDOT says it hopes to have the work completed and the plate removed by Friday.
