NORFOLK- Another round of bad weather could be bad news for drivers trying to avoid potholes.
The Va. Dept. of Transportation said Tuesday that crews will continue to patch the Interstates as weather permits. VDOT says it's alerted emergency pothole contractors and Turnkey Asset Management Services contractors to be prepared to act.
Because rain is expected ahead of possible sleet or snow, VDOT can't pre-treat the roads.
13News Meteorologist Craig Moeller says winds are expected to increase and gusts could hit 35 to 45 mph Wednesday evening. More rain is likely with a transition to mixed precipitation or snow tomorrow night.
As for snow, Moeller says accumulations of 1-3" are possible over the Northern Neck, 1-2" for the Middle Peninsula, and a dusting to an inch could fall over the western Tidewater area and the Peninsula.
