NORFOLK-- Two men who police say led them on a chase through South Norfolk in Chesapeake into Norfolk were arrested after their car hit another vehicle.

Chesapeake police spokeswoman Officer Kelly O'Sullivan says Chesapeake officers tried to stop the car for a traffic violation at Melon Street and Berkley Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Monday.  Instead of pulling over,  the car drove off, she said.

Authorities say the car stopped after hitting a car at St. Paul's Boulevard and Market Street in Norfolk.

Deangelo Wilkins, 22, of Norfolk, was passenger in the car driven by Frankie Jones, 23, of Va. Beach, O'Sullivan said.

Jones is charged defective equipment, hit & run, eluding police and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Wilkins is charged with trespassing, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
