Tires taken off car parked at Newport News dealership

NEWPORT NEWS - Two men were caught on surveillance video taking tires off a car on a used car parking lot in Newport News.

Employees at M & B Auto Sales on Warwick Blvd. found the vehicle up on concrete blocks on October 3.

Surveillance video shows two men taking the tires off and putting concrete blocks under the body.

Investigators say this kind of crime has happened several times since mid-July at dealerships and apartment complexes in the Denbigh area.

Police aren't sure whether the men in the video are connected to the other incidents.

*Hyman Brothers Mazda; 12602 Jefferson Avenue; 4 tires and rims; overnight 09/17/2012 - 09/18/2012 and 4 tires and rims; overnight 09/24/2012 - 09/25/2012

*100 block of Republic Road; 4 tires and rims; overnight 09/26/2012 - 09/27/2012

*Suttle Motors; 12525 Jefferson Avenue; 4 tires and rims; overnight 09/26/2012 - 09/27/2012

*M&B Auto Sales; 15014 Warwick Boulevard; 2 tires and rims; overnight 10/02/2012 - 10/03/2012

*200 block of Rotunda Circle; 1 tire and rim; overnight 10/03/2012 - 10/04/2012

*13000 block of Margaux Circle; 1 tire and rim; overnight 10/03/2012 - 10/04/2012

*1100 block of Woodbridge Drive; 2 tires and rims; overnight 11/09/2012 - 11/10/2012

*Hutchens Chevrolet; 12920 Jefferson Avenue; 4 tires and rims; overnight between 11/21/2012 -11/24/2012

*Casey BMW; 12861 Jefferson Avenue; 4 tires and rims; overnight between 11/21/2012 - 11/23/2012

All of the incidents are believed to have occurred after 10 p.m. and before 5 a.m. and they are all believed to be related. All vehicles were left sitting on blocks.
