Thieves smash windows, steal items from cars at Va. Beach apartments

VIRGINIA BEACH - Some Va. Beach residents went out to their cars Wednesday morning only to find they'd been damaged and items stolen from them.

Windows on several cars, trucks and SUVs parked at Chartwell Apartments had been smashed and electronics and other things were taken out. The owner of a Nissa Maxima looked through the windowless car door to find that the radio/entertainment console had been ripped out and wires were left hanging.

At least one resident had items taken from their home. home stolen.

At least three vehicles were parked inside the middle section of the apartment complex and two were parked on the street.
