SUFFOLK -- A local state legislator was the victim of a bold crime in Suffolk early Thursday morning.

Del. Chris Jones tells 13News Now that two people tried to smash through a wall in the back of his pharmacy off of Bridge Road around 2 a.m.

After watching surveillance video, Jones says both people were wearing hoods. He says one was carrying a crow bar and the other person had what appeared to be a ball-peen hammer.

They were unable to get into the pharmacy, but did leave behind a hole two-feet long. Jones believes the suspects were trying to crawl through.

The investigation is ongoing and the pharmacy was open Friday.
