VIRGINIA BEACH- Animals at the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center are waiting to become part of your military family.
The center at 341 S. Birdneck Road has half-price adoptions for veterans and active duty personnel during the four-day event for Veterans Day.
Adoption hours:
Friday, November 9: 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11: 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Monday, November 11: 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Just bring your military I.D. or other paperwork showing that you served and you get the discount. Or adopt two - it's like buy one, get one free.

In Norfolk, a "9 Lives for $9" adoption event begins Saturday, Nov. 10. Adopt any cat nine months of age or older for just $9. The special rate runs through November 18 at the Norfolk Animal Care Center, at 5585 Sabre Road.

Wednesday: 11am-4:30pm
Thursday: 2pm-7pm
