WILLIAMSBURG-- There is something new cooking in Williamsburg.
Highly-acclaimed chef Peter Chang has opened China Cafe, a new restaurant in the historic district.
City officials also like to call the area a creative economic district. So far, the area has attracted eight new businesses.
Mayor Clyde Haulman says the new restaurant adds to the variety and quality of what the city has to offer.
"Chang is a hot new chef who is doing interesting things and Williamsburg has become a real foodie destination," Haulman noted.
This is the third restaurant Chang has opened in Virginia. Gen Lee, the chef's business partner and translator, says Chang likes college towns. His other restaurants are in Richmond and Charlottesville.
Peter Chang China Cafe is located at 1203 Richmond Ave.
