VIRGINIA BEACH - It's been nearly a year since an Oceana-based jet crashed into an apartment complex in Va. Beach.

The crash at Mayfair Mews apartments was called the Good Friday miracle because no one was killed.

The Va. Beach Fire Department received an award from the Va. Fire Chiefs Association last month for its efforts at the crash site. Officials with the Navy and the city cited their joint training as one reason the response went so well.

More joint training was going on Wednesday morning at NAS Oceana. This year's disaster scenario reenacts a truck operating running into a fuel line, which causes a hazmat situation.

The exercise required emergency services personnel and vehicles to react to the situation.  Va. Beach first responders responded and pulled the "victim" from the scene and then hazmat crews suited up to clean-up the scene.
