NORFOLK-- A challenger little league baseball team called “The Angels” was in dire need of new equipment.

A Norfolk Collegiate High school senior came to their rescue. Student Vince Thomas said it’s all about the kids.

“Some of the boys have down syndrome. It just means a lot that they're just accepted,” he said.

Through fundraising efforts, Thomas and his friends raised $1,000.

They gave the new equipment to children at halftime of Saturday night's Norfolk Collegiate academy basketball game.

Rosa Gregory has a child on the team, and she’s grateful for the help from high school students.

"To see those kids come out and work with us on the baseball field is just amazing. You don't think of teenagers wanting to be around special needs kids like that, and these kids just go out and do it," she said.
