NORFOLK -- A city employee faces sexual assault charges Tuesday after police received a report from the victim on June 24th.

The young male told investigators that Jay Conova Burton, 54, of the 7400 block of North Shore Rd., had assaulted him on numerous occasions at Burton's residence since 2008.

Burton was arrested without incident and has been charged with forcible sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, and taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in custodial or supervisory relationship.

Burton is an employee of the City of Norfolk as a Recreation Specialist.

He is currently being held at the Norfolk City Jail.

Police believe that Burton has worked at a number of Recreation Centers in Norfolk, including his current position at the Titustown Recreation Center.

As a precaution, investigators are asking parents of children who may have come in contact with Burton to please contact the Norfolk Police Department's Special Crimes Unit at 664-7033.
