NORFOLK - There's more to trash than meets the eye and local artists are proving that.

TFC Recycling and AltDaily kick off the Found Art Exhibit at Norfolk City Hall Friday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m.

Artists created works of art using only materials that are found, upcycled, recycled and/or recyclable. For example, there's a night-light box made from water bottles filled with rain water and illuminated from within by colored lights, an image of Abraham Lincoln made from painted black and white bottle caps and a jewel box made from salvaged materials from the site of the recently demolished Painted Lady.

The exhibit in the lobby of Norfolk City Hall runs through May 17.
