PORTSMOUTH -- The murders of two women in Portsmouth are connected.

Linda Carroll, 64, was found dead in her apartment on February 25; Gloria Johnson, 47, was found dead on Wilcox Avenue on March 6.

Both women had been stabbed. They also were robbed of some of the same items.

Police say they had the same circle of friends and both worked at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

“We know that these two women spoke to people prior to their death. We'd like to talk to those individuals, discover a motive,” said Det. Jan Westerbeck.

If you can help police with the investigations, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-UP or text PORTSMOUTH and your information to 274637.
