NORFOLK-- Phylicia Robinson would have turned 27 years old Sunday. Despite her tragic death, her family had a party anyway.
“That’s usually how she celebrates. She definitely likes to have a good time," said Shakita Kelley, one of Robinson’s best friends. She says everyone close to Robinson is trying to keep a positive attitude on her birthday.
Robinson disappeared on October 3rd, leaving all her valuables in her apartment untouched. On November 26th, police found Robinson’s body in a closet door.
Officers arrested her neighbor, Jamiel Graves. Graves is facing murder charges and is due in court this Wednesday. Graves is also accused of murdering his ex-girl friend Mandi Myers of Virginia Beach.
Five-year-old Tyshawn is Robison’s son. He knows something is missing from his mom’s birthday party: a hug from her. “It feels ok.”
The Robinson family is trying to hold onto the good memoires on this special day. “We are celebrating life. We’re celebrating all the good times."
