NEWPORT NEWS-Police say a man who answered an ad on Craigslist was robbed when he arrived to look at a cell phone.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. on November 21.

Police say the 21-year-old hoped to buy an iPhone for $180 and went to the apartment listed in the ad. He knocked on the door and a woman in lingerie invited him in.   She said she was going to get the phone and when she left, a man wearing a mask and holding a gun took his money and cell phone.

The ad listed that there were phones for sale, so police are concerned someone else might fall victim to the scheme and warn they usually increase during the holidays.

Anyone with information should call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
