Police release name of man shot at Newport News store

NEWPORT NEWS-- Police have identified the man shot dead Tuesday afternoon at the corner of Buxton Avenue and 19th Street.

Medics pronounced 48-year-old Everette Harrison, of the 400 block of Alleghany Road in Hampton, deceased at 2:47 P.M. 

Police found  Harrison shot in front of White's Grocery.

Witnesses told 13News, Harrison was known for having a bike with a radio and trailer and he was riding his bike at the time of the shooting. 

Witnesses told police they heard multiple gunshots and saw a sedan, the make unknown but described as gunmetal blue in color, speed away from the corner of 19th and Buxton moments after the gunshots.

Police have no suspects.   They  believe Harrison was not the intended target.
