MIRA MESA, CALIFORNIA – Thierry Cahez paid a large credit card bill with pennies -- 650-thousand of them.
He says for days, he’d tried to pay off his bill with the payload of pennies.
"Different time, different branches and they all send me away, very bad attitude,”he said.
He said bank workers told him the pennies needed to be in rolls, so he got them rolled up and returned to the bank but still they wouldn’t take them.
A Chase Bank spokesman said there’s not enough room for all those rolls in most branches.
The bank finally made arrangements at a branch that has a big enough vault to accept the pennies.
Thierry admitted he decided to make this kind of payment because he was upset about a refinancing he couldn't get and charges and fees on his credit card.
