NORFOLK -- Get in the holiday spirit by taking part in the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis®.

While many people will be decking the halls, many participants will be getting decked out - wearing a costume or having jingle bells tied to their shoelaces.

The Norfolk event is Saturday, December 1 at Old Dominion University.  The Reindeer Run starts at 8:30 a.m.; the 5K Chip-timed run starts at 9:30 a.m. and the 3K Walk begins at 9:45 a.m.

The goal is $91,000; pre-run pledges have hit a little more than 31,000.

The run at Newport News Park was held Saturday, November 17. It raised $39,.287, just a little short of the $40,000 goal.

It's one way to get rid of those Thanksgiving meal pounds.

Arthritis is the nation’s most common cause of disability, the Foundation states and affects 50 million Americans-adults and children.
