HAMPTON---Regional transportation officials slammed the findings of a recent HRT performance review at a Transportation District Commission meeting in Hampton Thursday.
HRT President William Harrell says the organization has fixed many of its financial issues that were pointed out in the report conducted by the American Public Transportation Association.
Commissioners have called for an internal audit of the performance report.
"If you looked at the report outside of the context of where we are now, you certainly wouldn't of come to the same conclusion that some have," said Harrell.
Despite the alleged mis-findings, many commissioners were in agreement that light rail and bus fees need to increase for HRT to remain financially stable.
