HAMPTON -- Fire that damaged a food storage building for a popular Hampton restaurant is suspicious, Hampton Fire Dept. spokesman Capt. Anthony Chittum told WVEC.com.
On Thursday, fire investigators ruled that it was arson.
A passing police officer spotted smoke coming from Harpoon Larry's on N. Armistead Avenue just before 4:00 a.m.
Firefighters say a food storage building, which isn't attached to the building, sustained moderate damage. They say the restaurant itself is undamaged.
No one was in the building at the time.
