VA BEACH - For more than a decade, Farm Fresh customers have given their spare change to help make sick children well.

The 13th annual Farm Fresh Round Up for Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters is underway, running from March 10 - 31.  When you check out, cashiers will ask if you want to round up your bill to the next dollar or contribute more.

If you don't think your pennies and dimes make a difference, they do.

"It is amazing the difference that, whether it's eleven cents or 92 cents or whatever it may be, it's easy and in all the years they've been raising money for us, $6.9 million dollars in the last 12 years has been raised through this incredible opportunity," said Karen Gershman, CHKD's director of development.

The money will help the more than 500 children in southeastern Virginia, the Virginia Eastern Shore and northeastern North Carolina who are battling cancer. CHKD has the only dedicated program for children in Hampton Roads.  CHKD says each year, about 70 local children are newly diagnosed with some form of the deadly disease.
