NORFOLK -- The eaglets we've all watched on Eagle Cam this season were released into the wild on Wednesday.
Berkeley Plantation on the James River will be the site. The three had been under the watchful eye of the Wildlife Center of Virginia.
You may recall, the mother eagle at Norfolk Botanical Garden was hit by an airliner in April and died.
WVEC.COM streamed the release for Eagle Nation viewers who couldn't be at the site.
The "father" eagle has been seen near the nest at Norfolk Botanical Garden. Experts think the odds are pretty good that he will take up with another female next fall.
