Dare County warns residents of flooding as Sandy pulls away

KITTY HAWK, N.C.--Dare County is warning residents about the effects of Sandy as the storm pulls away from the area.

Dare County Emergency Management reports that all lanes of Highway 158 are closed in Kitty Hawk due to flooding.  The closure is in the vicinity of milepost 4.  All vehicles are being rerouted on a detour through neighborhoods west of Highway 158.   

The county is warning residents about widespread soundside flooding that is expected to occur through Tuesday morning.  They are advising everyone to stay indoors.
