Pastor solicitation investigation
CHESAPEAKE - New details on the arrest of a pastor from Chesapeake is accused of soliciting a juvenile.
The Chesapeake Police Internet Crimes Against Children unit arrested 32-year-old Haden Conrad after searching his home on Orville Ave. and at Chesapeake Avenue United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Officer Kelly O'Sullivan confirmed to WVEC.com.
Police said Friday Conrad exposed his genitals via webcam to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. That "teen" was an undercover sheriff’s deputy in Spotsylvania County he met in an online chat room, O'Sullivan stated.
Conrad remains in jail on a charge of computer solicitation of a child under the age of 15.
According to the church Website, Conrad has been the pastor there since July 2011 and has served as chaplain for the Chesapeake Police Department since May 2012.
