PORTSMOUTH -- Organizers say they have enough signatures on petitions to get a recall election for Portsmouth Mayor James Holley.
Holley came under fire last year for using a city-paid worker to conduct some of his personal work.
He refused to resign and said he'd leave it to the people to decide whether he should stay in office.
After five months, opponents are set to take the 8,000 signatures to circuit court for validation.
If enough are certified by the registrar, a judge would give Mayor Holley five days to step down before setting an election date.
