Bullied 7th grader made "hit list", James City Co. police say

JAMES CITY COUNTY-A 7th grader is accused of creating a hit list that targeted some of her classmates may have been the victim of bullying at her school.  James City County police confirm to 13News Now that the hit list was on the 12-year-old girl's cell phone.

The girl was removed from Hornsby Middle School in James City County in a police vehicle just before noon Thursday after a student alerted school staff. . Police spokesperson Maj Stephen Rubino tells 13News Now "My understanding is that this child has experiences some bullying and the names that were on this list were people that either had bullied her or she felt were bullying her."

The incident is being investigated, but  Rubino said he didn't believe there would be criminal charges. The school division says it will be taking disciplinary action.
