FRISCO, NC -- Authorities took out an arrest warrant on Nate Summerfield, Monday night, as officials in Dare County announced that a body found in Frisco, NC on Saturday is that of Lynn Jackenheimer.
Jackenheimer's cause of death hasn't been determined. Officials say an autopsy still under way was able to confirm her identity.
Dare Co. Sheriff Doug Doughtie says a man doing construction saw something suspicious near some homes, went to investigate and discovered the body.
Around 4:30 p.m, deputies arrived at Frisco Rod and Gun on Highway 12. Sheriff's investigators were unable to tell if the body is a woman or a man. They do say there were no reports of missing persons in that area.
The body was found about 30 minutes (30-40 miles) from where 33-year-old Jackenheimer was vacationing with her two children and ex-boyfriend for the July 4th holiday.
Nathan Summerfield returned to Ashland, Ohio with the children on July, but she was not with them. He disappeared after dropping them off with family.
Summerfield became a person of interest after family said he told them he'd strangled her.
Monday evening, a warrant for the arrest of Summerfield was issued, according to the sheriff's office.
