Internet Content Producer
WVEC.com is seeking an Internet Content Producer to join our award-winning Web site. Responsibilities include Web development, content creation and publishing, designing and producing many types of online content for WVEC.com. Flash development skills and good writing ability required. Must be able to handle numerous projects and deliver quality results on deadline. Advanced computer skills and good communication a must. Television Broadcast Engineer
WVEC-TV is seeking a Television Broadcast Maintenance Engineer. Qualified candidate must have five years television maintenance broadcast experience. Prefer candidates with FCC General Radiotelephone License and/or SBE Certified Broadcast Television Engineer (CBTE). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work under deadlines, and be able to climb ladders, pull cables, and lift at least 50 lbs. Duties include: Installation and repair of broadcast and broadcast related IT equipment including video/audio switchers, video servers, non-linear video editing systems, video cameras, broadcast television transmitters (both digital and analog), electronic graphics systems, audio systems, digital microwave transmitters/receivers, and videotape recorders (Sony SX and Digital Betacam). Must be capable of repairs to the component level. Also provide engineering support for live, remote telecasts. WVEC offers a good work environment, competitive salary and benefits. Local Sales Manager
WVEC is seeking a Local Sales Manager. This position is responsible for managing the activities of local sales representatives in WVEC’s viewer market. Create new revenue source ideas, motivate and develop sales team, coordinate special sales projects. Requires a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business or related field, three years sales management experience, broadcast media sales a plus. Proven application of leadership and coaching abilities while managing a diverse sales team. Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated presentation and negotiation abilities. Production Assistant - Part-time
WVEC-TV is seeking a part-time Production Assistant who will assist in the production of live newscasts and other TV productions. Skills required include operation of studio camera, teleprompter, floor directing, character generator and audio. Must possess excellent spelling, typing and grammar skills. Strong technical agility is required. Previous live audio experience is a plus. College degree in Mass Communications or equal experience preferred. Final semester college seniors will be considered. Must be able to work flexible hours: (4am-1pm) weekdays, (5am-8am) weekends, holidays and other shifts as necessary. Interactive Account Executive
WVEC.com is looking for an account executive to join the interactive team. Interactive AE will be responsible for generating revenue by prospecting and selling interactive advertising campaigns for WVEC.com and WVEC-TV, in conjunction with offline partners as required. Responsible for client calls, proposal preparation and presentations, successful closing negotiations, and meeting revenue goals. News Photographer (2 POSITIONS OPEN)
WVEC-TV is looking for two creative and energetic photographers with an understanding of NPPA principles. Candidates should have at least one year experience shooting and editing news. One year working/operating a microwave truck necessary. Candidates should be flexible in work schedule to provide maximum news coverage and work a specific “on call” schedule. Live in a great region, right on the ocean and cover stories in very competitive news market. Send resume tape (DVD, Beta SP or SX).
