* Lane on I-64 east near Camp Peary closed for guardrail repairs
A tractor trailer struck a vehicle and then hit an overhead sign on Thursday afternoon.

Crash closes stretch of Rt. 13 on Eastern Shore
State Police say the northbound lanes will likely be closed through noon to clear debris from the wreck and to remove the power lines.

VDOT plans projects to help commute on southside Hampton Roads
VDOT and city leaders will discuss improvements to the Downtown and Midtown tunnels, the Gilmerton Bridge and the new South Norfolk Jordan Bridge Wednesday afternoon.

Westbound tube of Downtown Tunnel closing for the weekend
The tube from Norfolk to Portsmouth will close at midnight October 2 and reopen at 5:00 a.m. Monday so crews can remove ceiling tiles and do drain cleaning, sweeping and lighting repairs, VDOT says.

Gilmerton Bridge repairs to impact drivers, boaters
From October 2 through 12, crews will replace the temporary fenders that have been in place since the tug Steve McAllister struck the span in Chesapeake on August 13.

Repairs to close part of Norfolk underpass
Work will begin this week on the Tidewater Drive/St. Julian Avenue underpass, affecting only northbound traffic to Lindenwood Avenue.

Panel finalizing recommendations on Hampton Roads tunnel system
The transportation experts are recommending ways to avoid another incident like that of July 2, when a flooded pump house at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel closed the westbound tube for hours.

The contractor broke ground in May 2006 to replace the interchange on I-64 and widen two miles of the interstate from six lanes to 14 lanes to help improve traffic and reduce congestion.
